Powertel TRS Service is Cheaper than VoIP
Powertel TRS is determined to attract customers from mobile service market by slashing service prices.
Powertel TRS provides a wireless service cheaper than VoIP over a single device combining the radio transceiver and the cell phone, according to the company. Paying 30,000 won ($ 30) of basic fee, customers can make limitless calls to the US, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and Japan as well as local, long-distance and fixedline calls. Calling to cell phones using other mobile services charge 14 won (about 1.4 cents) for every 10 seconds.
Besides fast and easy data communications, the new service ensures strong protection from tapping thanks to Motorola’s original iDEN technology, according to Powertel TRS. In the cell phone mode, the mobile device offers conference call or functions as a hands-free speaker phone, while in the 2-way transceiver mode, realizes one-on-one or small group communications at the touch of a button.
Powertel TRS says, “Our mobile service is useful in various business areas requiring prompt communications or moves as well as transportation, distribution and foreign trade. We will expand mobile communications business in the Korean market.”
